Birth of a mother

Living life on her terms,

With never a backward glance...

By the child's arrival awakened,

Shaken  out of her lifelong trance!

Birthing hopes,  braving fears,

She fearfully fearless grows...

All fragments of the treasured past,

To the passing winds she throws!

She pines for peace of maidenhood 

A peace for ever lost...

To find new pastures tranquil more,

And mighty  is the cost...

A heavy heart, sleep laden eyes,

Pains unrelieved,  a tale untold!

It is the death of a fragile lass,

It is the birth of a woman bold!  

The fevered, old loves fall away,

Quick, blasted, torn, thick and fast!

As love the much used empty term,

Laughs hardest and the last...

Sacrifice - too pale a word,

For her giddy joys, for her hopes forlorn
Having given all, she gives again,

And then, yes then is a mother born!

Sun lit laughter,

And waters clear...

The act of birthing,

And acts of faith!

Lives snuffed out...

Life after death!

First love blushing,

With souls urgent...

Dark love's despair,

No place to vent...

A teachers dream,

A scholars search!

Facts and fiction,

They merrily merge!

The perfect marriage,

A grand affair...

Details that leap,

Out of thin air!!

Some sinister deeds,

The gaps to fill...

The parts untold,

More sinister still!

The scientist's query,

The artist's dream!

Atomic break down,

The Planetary scheme...

All this and more,

As the words roll on...

Through the world of books,

Worlds birthed and born!

In a maze of reality,

I lost my dreams...

Yet I lost my realities,

Chasing moonbeams!

I found my soul,

In the darkest pathway...

Wounded and lost,

Tortured it lay...

But it never stopped beating.,,

To the rhythm of love's call,

It's glorious rising star,

And it's inevitable fall!

On a fog eaten day just for fun...

What do you like besides the sun?

Blankets warm, and burning stoves...

Steaming cups, & an eye that roves!

Woolen cozies and grandma's tale...

With a smoking brownie should all else fail!

Moth eaten books, some songs so old,

Their rare records now sell as gold!  

Twinkling lights beyond Christmas days...

New Year's Eve is on the way!

At the mounting washing a suppressed sigh...

Sleep tumbled hair, love tumbled eyes!

Giggles, banter, many a hearty meal

Some real sore hearts and feet did heal!

On a fog eaten day just for fun...

Could one wish more for any one?!
